Lewis-Clark State College freshman Josi Lyman was named the Frontier Conference’s Volleyball Player of the Week, while the Warrior volleyball team remained at No. 12 in this week’s NAIA Coaches’ Poll, which was released on Tuesday.

Lyman, a 6-foot-2 right-side hitter from LaGrande, Ore., had a match-high 12 kills in LCSC’s 25-15, 25-16, 25-22 win over Westminster last week in the Warriors’ only outing. Lyman hit .360 for the match and had three assists, two block assists, and one dig. She was credited with scoring 13 points to lead all players in the match.

Lyman is the second Warrior to receive the honor this season. Junior outside hitter Anile Clemente won the inaugural Player of the Week award for this season.

Also on Tuesday, the NAIA poll came out and for the third straight week, the Warriors remained at No. 12. LCSC is 17-0 overall and trails No. 11 Dordt of Iowa by one point. Dordt jumped from No. 15 to No. 11, replacing Northwestern of Iowa, which fell out of the top 10.

The top five spots in the poll remained unchanged as Fresno Pacific still leads the poll with a 14-0 record and all 26 first-place votes.

LCSC is 17-0 on the season and is off to its best start since the 2000 season when the Warriors started a program-best 19-0.

LCSC is back in action at home this week for a pair of Frontier Conference matches. LCSC entertains CarrollCollege on Thursday at 7 p.m., and then takes on RockyMountain at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Both matches will be played at the LCSCActivityCenter.
