After suffering only its second loss of the season, the Lewis-Clark State College women’s volleyball team slipped three spots in the NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 poll, falling to No. 14 this week.
The Warriors suffered a four-game setback to Rocky Mountain to end the regular season last Saturday and the setback could be costly. The top 12 teams in the final NAIA poll, which will be released on Sunday, receive byes into the national tournament while the next 24 teams will take part in 12 first-round matches. Those 12 winners will join the top 12 ranked teams at Sioux City, Iowa for the remainder of the national tournament.
The Warriors, 25-2 overall, received 379 votes in the poll. Point Loma Nazarene, which moved to No. 13, has 437 points, while No. 12 Morningside of Iowa has 442.
