The Lewis-Clark State College women’s volleyball team will hold a scrimmage match against North Idaho College on Friday at 4 p.m. in the LCSC Activity Center.
The controlled scrimmage is free and open to the public.
The Warriors are in the middle of their spring workout schedule. The team took part in the Washington State University Spring Tournament in Pullman last Saturday and was the only non-NCAA Division I team there. LCSC split two games with Montana State, lost two matches late to the University of Idaho, hung tough for one game with WSU before falling 25-23, and also hung tough for one game against defending Big Sky Conference champion Eastern Washington before falling 25-22.
“Our girls competed hard and we were able to see some things we’ve been working on with individual players this spring surface in competition,” LCSC assistant coach Burdette Greeny said. “We also saw and were encouraged by some nice play from players that didn’t get a ton of playing time this past fall.”
The Warriors also will take part in another tournament at the University of Idaho in Moscow on April 25. Although the schedule for that tournament hasn’t been set, LCSC is expected to play Idaho, Montana, and Gonzaga, among others.
LCSC is the two-time defending Frontier Conference regular season and tournament champions. LCSC posted a 30-4 record last season and advanced to the national tournament. The Warriors were ranked No. 14 in the final NAIA poll.
