Lewis-Clark State College junior Anile Clemente has been named the first Frontier Conference Player of the Week for the 2008 volleyball season.
Clemente, a 5-foot-11 junior from Sorocaba, Sao Paolo, Brazil, was named the MVP of the Whitworth Invitational after leading the Warriors to the title last week. It was the second straight tournament MVP award for Clemente, who was a third-team NAIA All American last season as well as the conference’s Co-Player of the Year.
In LCSC’s four wins at the Whitworth Invitational, Clemente averaged 3.2 kills and 4.1 digs per game and finished with 10 service aces.
Clemente has helped the Warriors to a 12-0 start and a No. 12 ranking in the latest NAIA poll.
The Warriors kick off Frontier Conference play this week when they play host to Montana Tech on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Montana Western on Saturday at 2 p.m. Both matches will be played in the LCSC Activity Center.
