The Lewis-Clark State College women's volleyball team will hold an intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the LCSC Activity Center.
The scrimmage is free and open to the public.
The Warriors return nine players from last year's squad, which won the Frontier Conference regular season and tournament titles as well as the Region I Tournament. LCSC was the ninth seed at the NAIA national tournament and finished with a 26-8 record.
This season, the Warriors have already been tabbed as the team to beat in the FC coaches' preseason poll.
Along with having seven regular and part-time starters returning from last season, LCSC has seven newcomers on the squad this season, including six freshmen.
Coach Jennifer Greeny, who is in her second year at the helm, and the Warriors kick off the season next Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22-23, in the five team Holiday Inn Express Tournament at the Activity Center. Joining LCSC will be Westmont, Northwest, Corban, and Concordia of Oregon. The first match begins at noon on Friday and LCSC's first match will be at 2 p.m. Friday against Corban.
