BUTTE, Mont. - The Lewis-Clark State College women's volleyball team put together a solid effort to sweep Montana Tech 25-23, 25-15, 25-21 Saturday to complete a perfect road trip to start Frontier Conference play.
The two-time defending conference champion Warriors, ranked No. 13 in the NAIA, improved to 2-0 in conference play and 7-4 overall. LCSC started the road trip with a four-set win over Montana Western on Friday.
"We were able to spread the ball around much better tonight," LCSC coach Jen Greeny said. "I think this was a good weekend overall, but I thought we did a much better job tonight."
Anile Clemente paced the Warriors with 11 kills, while Lauryn Herrick and Dana Christiansen had seven apiece. Dani Barrett and Jenika Bird added six kills each, while Katie Hinrichs added 14 digs. Lisa Davis paced the Warriors in assists with 15, while Kim Fong added 12.
Hinrichs and Clemente also added three service aces each.
"This was a great way to start conference play and we're now looking forward to playing at home," Greeny said.
The Warriors play their FC home opener on Thursday at 7 p.m. against the University of Great Falls. The two teams met in LCSC's season-opening Comfort Inn Tournament and the Warriors prevailed in five sets. LCSC also plays host to Montana State Northern on Saturday at 2 p.m. Both home matches will be at the LCSC Activity Center.
