Warriors ranked No. 23 as they prepare to start second half
10/13/2009
The Lewis-Clark State College volleyball team dropped one spot to be listed at No. 23 in this week’s NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 poll, which was released Tuesday.

The Warriors, currently 12-6 overall, were passed in the poll by Indiana Institute of Technology (18-7) which jumped from No. 25 to No. 15.

Of LCSC’s six losses four of them have come against teams currently ranked in the top 10. The Warriors also have two wins against teams currently ranked 10th or higher as they defeated No. 6 Azusa Pacific and No. 10 Vanguard in early September.

Fresno Pacific (20-0) was again ranked No. 1 as the top five teams remained the same while every other team in the poll shuffled positions. Fresno Pacific has now spent 30-consecutive weeks as the country’s top-ranked team dating back to Aug. 15, 2007.

Carroll College (20-6), which fell from No. 19 to No. 20, was the only other Frontier Conference team to receive votes.

The Warriors, ranked No. 11 before losing road matches to Rocky Mountain and Carroll two weeks ago, look to start the second half of the conference season on high note with two home matches this week. LCSC will take on Montana Western on Thursday at 7 p.m., and then face Montana Tech on Saturday at 2 p.m.
