Athletics - Lewis-Clark State

After picking up a pair of victories to start the second half of Frontier Conference play last week, the Lewis-Clark State College women’s volleyball team climbed two spots to No. 21 in this week’s Tachikara-NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Volleyball Poll, the NAIA announced Tuesday.

The Warriors, 14-6 overall, compiled 258 points in the poll, just one behind Taylor University of Indiana.

Wins over Montana Western and Montana Tech last week put the Warriors at 7-2 in Frontier Conference play and in first place, a half-game ahead of both Carroll and Great Falls.

Carroll, which lost to Rocky Mountain last week, slipped three spots to No. 23 with 189 points. The Saints are 20-7 overall. Great Falls, 11-9 overall, received one vote in the poll.

Fresno Pacific and California Baptist remained 1-2 in the poll as Golden State Athletic Conference teams held down four of the top five spots and six of the top 11.

LCSC has three matches this week as it will face Walla Walla University in non-league action Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the LCSC Activity Center before hitting the road for matches at Great Falls on Friday and Montana State-Northern on Saturday.
