The Lewis-Clark State College women’s volleyball team moved up one spot to No. 23 in the ninth edition of the Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the NAIA announced Tuesday.
The Warriors, 18-7 overall, won two matches on the road last week as they swept both Whitman in nonleague play and Westminster in Frontier Conference action. The loss for Westminster was its first home loss of the season.
LCSC has 209 points in the poll and trails No. 22 Madonna by 20 points.
Carroll College moved up two spots to No. 19 at 24-7. Carroll currently leads LCSC by a game in the Frontier Conference standings but the two clubs square off on Saturday in the regular-season finale.
LCSC is 9-3 in conference play and takes on Rocky Mountain on Thursday at 7 p.m. and free tickets are available at area Happy Day Restaurants while they last. It’s also Pack the House Night and fans are encouraged to wear red, white or blue to the match. On Saturday, the Warriors face conference-leading Carroll at 2 p.m. All tickets to the match are $1 and there will be a special pre-function at Southway Pizzeria & Deli starting at 12:30 p.m.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. The final regular season Top 25 poll will be announced on Nov. 10.
