All 10 players who qualify earn FC academic honors
Every member of the Lewis-Clark State College women’s volleyball team who met the eligibility standard earned at least a 3.0 grade point average and was named to the 2010 Academic All-Frontier Conference Volleyball Team, conference commissioner Kent Paulson has announced.
To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and be enrolled at the school the previous two semesters. LCSC has 10 players who are at least a sophomore and have been enrolled at LCSC for at least two semesters, and all 10 earned at least a 3.0 GPA.
The Warrior volleyball team completed one of its most successful seasons during the fall when it won its fourth straight conference regular season and tournament title. LCSC became only the second team to go undefeated in Frontier Conference play since it joined the league in 1999 (the other was LCSC that first season).
LCSC went 28-1 during the regular season and then advanced to the Elite Eight of the NAIA National Tournament, the program’s second-highest finish. The team finished at 31-3 for the best winning percentage in program history.
Among the 10 who were honored are the program’s four seniors – Kim Fong of Lewiston, Katie Hinrichs of Pullman, Jenika Bird Jeppson of Green River, Wyo., and Demi Dlouhy of Idaho Falls.
