LCSC remains at No. 11
9/14/2010

The Lewis-Clark State College women’s volleyball team held steady at the No. 11 spot in the second Tachikara-NAIA Women’s Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, which was released on Tuesday.

The Warriors, 10-1 overall heading into Tuesday night’s home match with Whitworth, defeated both Carroll College and Rocky Mountain College on the road last week to start Frontier Conference play at 2-0. LCSC was picked in the preseason FC coaches’ poll to win the conference, followed by Carroll in second and RMC in third. It’s the first time since 2003 LCSC has swept this road trip.

Although LCSC remained in the same spot, Carroll moved up to No. 22 after defeating previously ranked Westminster.

The Warriors drew 462 points in the poll to remain ahead of Embry-Riddle, which had 445 points.

Fresno Pacific remained at No. 1 for the 37th straight week in the poll to help California teams continue to dominate. The Golden State Athletic Conference has three of the top five teams and five of the top 10.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. The next poll will be announced on Sept. 21.

After Tuesday night’s match, the Warriors will entertain Montana Tech at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Montana Western at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
