Tikker named FC Player of the Week
For the third time this season, a member of the Lewis-Clark State College women’s volleyball team has been named the Frontier Conference’s Player of the Week. Conference officials announced on Monday that outside hitter Kelli Tikker was this week’s winner of the award.
Tikker, a 5-foot-9 junior from Nine Mile Falls, Wash., joins teammates Lauryn Herrick and Deddiy Alaimaleata as Warriors who have received the award so far this year.
In two matches last week, Tikker totaled 24 kills, four service aces, and 16 digs to help the No. 9-ranked Warriors defeat two top-25 ranked teams in Carroll College and Rocky Mountain College. Against Carroll she collected 12 kills on a .226 hitting percentage and drilled home all four of her aces to help the Warriors to a sweep. Against Rocky her defensive skills took the spotlight as she was second on the team with 11 digs and 20 service receptions.
The Warriors are on the road this week travelling to Montana Tech on Friday, and then Montana Western on Saturday.
