The Lewis-Clark State College volleyball team climbed one spot and is now at No. 13 in this week’s Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ top 25 poll, which was released Tuesday.
LCSC, which defeated Westminster 3-2 in its only conference match last week, lost points in the poll, but benefited from Biola University’s three-match losing streak and drop from No. 12 to No. 15. The Warriors received 362 points this week after being ranked No. 14 with 385 points in the previous poll.
Other Frontier Conference schools listed in the poll include No. 10 Rocky Mountain College, and No. 25 Carroll College.
The top eight teams remained unchanged with Texas at Brownsville, holding a 16-0 record, claiming the No. 1 spot.
LCSC, 5-1 in league and 11-3 overall, is currently a half game behind Rocky Mountain, 6-1 and 18-3, in the conference standings, however, the Warriors can quickly make up that ground with three conference matches next week.
Lewis-Clark State will first head to Butte, Mont., to finish up its postponed match with Montana Tech on Oct. 12 (LCSC has a 2-0 lead in sets). The team will then travel to Billings to face Rocky on Oct. 13, and lastly to Helena to play Carroll on Oct. 15.
