
Lauryn Herrick, a member of the Lewis-Clark State College volleyball team, was selected as the Frontier Conference’s Volleyball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Herrick, a 5-11 outside hitter from Cypress, Calif., helped the Warriors roll to three wins on the road last week. The No. 13-ranked Warriors defeated Montana Tech 3-0, No. 9 Rocky Mountain 3-0, and No. 24 Carroll College 3-1. With the three wins, the Warriors now hold a one-game lead over second-place Rocky Mountain in the conference standings.
Herrick averaged three kills per set with a .373 hitting percentage during the three matches. She also averaged 2.6 digs and 0.5 service aces. She led the team with nine kills against Tech, and tied for the team lead with 13 kills against Carroll.
Herrick joins Nicole Graybeal as the second Warrior to receive the award this year.
The Warrior volleyball team will enjoy its final home stand of the regular season this week. It will face Montana Western at 7 p.m. on Thursday, and Montana Tech on Saturday at 2 p.m.
