Brianna Kelly, a 5-foot-7 outside hitter, has signed a letter of intent to play for the Lewis-Clark State College women’s volleyball team next fall, Warrior head coach LaToya Harris has announced.
Kelly, who will be a sophomore, played at Cypress College in 2009 before suffering a season-ending arm injury. She spent the next two seasons in rehabilitation while attending and training with the volleyball program at Golden West Community College. At Cypress, she was a first-team all-Orange Empire Conference selection. She finished ninth in the conference in kills per game (2.65), was second in total kills (258), and also had 376 digs. She had a season-high 23 kills in a match against Golden West.
“What we focus on with our team is explosiveness, quickness, control, power, and positive energy and Brianna brings all those skills to the table,” said Harris. “With her strong arm swing, aggressive mentality and of course her 31 inch vertical jump, she can be a threat offensively.”
Kelly is from Huntington Beach, Calif., and plans to major in Business at LCSC.
