Lewis-Clark State College freshman Treneisha Doyle, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter, was selected as the Frontier Conference’s Volleyball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.Doyle, who is from Vancouver, Wash., earns the award after helping the Warriors open conference play with two sweeps last week. In the two matches she averaged nearly five kills per set with a hitting percentage of .339.
In the team’s win over Great Falls, Doyle led with 16 kills, hit .343, and had two service aces. Against Montana Tech, she had a team-high 13 kills, a .333 hitting clip, and two blocks.
The Warriors, now 5-5 overall, host two conference matches this week. They’ll face Westminster on Thursday at 7 p.m., and then Montana Western on Saturday at 2 p.m. Anyone who brings two cans of food to Saturday’s match will receive free admission.
