The Lewis-Clark State College volleyball team slipped just outside the top 25 in the Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Poll, announced Tuesday by the national office.
The Warriors (12-8 overall, 8-3 Frontier Conference) received 95 points, placing them one spot behind No. 25 Park (Mo.), which earned 136 points.
LCSC’s lost their only match last week, a five-set defeat on the road at Montana Tech, but still hold first place in the Frontier Conference by a half game over Carroll College.
Texas-Brownsville received 21 of 22 first-place votes to stay at No. 1 in the rankings for the 10th consecutive week, and the Scorpions (20-0) haven’t dropped a set since Sept. 22.
Concordia of California got the lone remaining first-place vote and is ranked second in the poll.
Lewis-Clark State and Carroll, the top two teams in the Frontier Conference, were the only two squads to represent the league in this week’s poll.
The Warriors have two matches on tap at the Activity Center this week, as they host Dickinson State on Thursday at Rocky Mountain on Saturday afternoon.
The Thursday contest will be Senior Night for the Warriors, and the team will honor outside hitter Brianne Brown and libero Kaylee Rector before the match with Dickinson. The action starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday, while Saturday’s match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
