Edwards and Stoner earn Academic All-America honors

Two juniors who will be called upon for leadership on the volleyball court next season, were honored recently for achieving success in academics. Kaci Edwards, a defensive specialist from Cambridge, Idaho, and Tera Stoner, a setter from Puyallup, Wash., were selected to the 1997 NAIA Academic All-America team. They were among 111 to be named to the team, based upon their academic status.

Edwards was among five players who earned an unblemished 4.0 grade point average. She majors in elementary education. Stoner, also an elementary ed. major, was named to the team by virtue of a 3.77 grade point average.

Both are expected to return next year for the Warriors, who finished the season 28-8 and made their fourth NAIA National Tournament appearance in the past five years. LCSC was ranked 12th nationally in the final NAIA poll and loses only three seniors -- Kymm Lingnaw, Liana Croft and Glory Maxey.
