Pascua Named Region’s Setter-of-the-Week
Cooper Named Conference Player-of-the-Week

Lewis-Clark State College senior setter Marci Pascua (Grass Valley, CA) was named NAIA Region I Setter-of-the-Week and outside hitter Regina Cooper (John Day, OR) was named the Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week for the period ending Sunday, September 17th.

Pascua and Cooper helped lead the second-ranked Warriors, 12-0 and 2-0 in the Frontier Conference, to a 3-0 week. Pascua recorded 148 assists for the week, including 76 in one match against Western Montana. Her 76 assists was five-short of her own school-record of 81 set against St. Martin’s in 1997. Cooper had 49 kills, 52 digs and seven total blocks during L-C’s three matches during the week. In the match at Western Montana, Cooper recorded career-highs in kills, 27, and digs, 32, to help lead the Warriors, who were on the verge of being swept, to a 3-2 victory.

The Warriors defeated Central Washington University on Tuesday, September 12th, 3-0, in L-C’s home-opener. Lewis-Clark State would go on to defeat Western Montana, 3-2, and Montana Tech, 3-0, on the road, to open conference play.

L-C returns to the friendly confines of Warrior Gymnasium, Friday, September 29th, against Frontier Conference-rival, Westminster College, at 7:00 pm.
