Volleyball Opens the Season at #25
Lewiston, ID-
The Lewis-Clark State College womens volleyball team will open the season ranked 25th, according to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Preseason Top 25 Poll released Tuesday.The Warriors tallied 26 points to just make the poll. Frontier Conference preseason co-favorite, Carroll College, is ranked number 24. Other Region I teams in the Top 25 are: Concordia University of Portland, #8; and, Albertson College, #15.
Defending national champion Dickinson State is the preseason favorite, garnering 343 total points and ten first-place votes. Point Loma Nazarene is ranked second, followed by the College of St. Mary, Georgetown College, and Columbia College, last years national runner-up.
Lewis-Clark State will open its season on Thursday night, against Simon Fraser
University, at 7:00 PM, in the Holiday Inn Express Invitational, at Warrior Gymnasium. The
tournament field has three ranked teams in: #8 Concordia, #10 Bellevue University, and #25
LCSC. L-C will play #18 Lubbock Christian, Friday, September 7th, at the Concordia
University Volleyball Invitational in Portland, OR.
