Game Story vs. Westminster College of Salt Lake City
Warriors Remain Unbeaten with 3-0 win over Griffins
LEWISTON, ID--The second-ranked Lewis-Clark State College Warriors rolled to a Frontier Conference volleyball match win against Westminster College of Salt Lake City, 3-0, Friday night at Warrior Gymnasium.
The Warriors (13-0, 3-0 in the conference) used a team effort to roll to the three-game victory. Freshman Amanda Page (Albany, OR) recorded a team-high 10 kills and Marci Pascua (Grass Valley, CA) collected 25 assists. Amy Sturtevant (Ketchum, ID) led the Warriors defensively with eight digs and Page chipped in with seven. Two-time NAIA All-America Angela Igoe (Firth, ID) added nine kills. Every Warrior saw extensive playing time in the match, except Sandy Arend (Tacoma, WA) who was not present for personal reasons.
"It was good to see our reserves play a lot tonight," said Lewis-Clark State head coach Kip Yoshimura. "Having a strong bench will help us be a better team, especially at the end of the season."
Westminster College (1-13, 0-3) was led by Ruth Seibts 13 kills and two service aces. Victoria Tower registered 20 assists and Brianne Wallace added six kills for the Griffins.
Lewis-Clark State will take on Westminster College, again, Saturday, September 30th, at 2:00 pm and then play another Frontier Conference match against Montana State University-Northern at 7:00 pm on Saturday.
