Three Warriors Selected All-Region

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2000 All-Region I team on Monday, November 20th. The region is comprised of two conferences, the Cascade Collegiate and the Frontier, and has three independent schools, Simon Fraser, Northwest Nazarene and Seattle.Named to the first-team from Lewis-Clark State (21-6) were seniors Regina Cooper (John Day, OR) and Marci Pascua (Grass Valley, CA). Cooper, an outside hitter, led the Warrior offense with 374 kills, and the Warrior defense with 309 digs. She hit .240 for the season. Pascua, a setter, recorded team-highs in assists with 1,066 and service aces with 34. She also registered 246 digs.
Junior middle blocker, Amber Weatherspoon (Athena, OR), was named to the second-team All-Region. She was second on the team in kills with 258 and had a team-high .357 hitting percentage. Weatherspoon was second in service aces with 27 and was fifth in digs with 213. She finished second on the team with 72 total blocks.
This is Coopers first All-Region selection while Pascuas was her third selection (1998 and 1999) to the first-team.
