Warriors Dim Skylights, 3-0
LEWISTON, ID--The 13th-ranked Lewis-Clark State College Warriors defeated the Montana State University-Northern Skylights, 3-0, in a Frontier Conference volleyball match, Saturday night, at Warrior Gymnasium.
The Warriors (13-1, 2-0 Frontier) were led by Angela Igoe’s team-high 14 kills and 12 digs. Jennifer Covelli added 49 assists. Amy Flaig and Amanda Page added 12 and 11 kills, respectively. The Warriors are on an 11-match winning streak.
The Skylights (4-6, 0-1 Frontier) were led by Laura Munson’s and Stephanie Lanfear’s nine kills. Gabrielle Chambliss added 31 assists and Lyndi Hostetter tallied 11 digs. MSU-Northern was supposed to open conference play on Thursday night, but was postponed due to the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C.
Lewis-Clark State will travel to Dillon, MT to take on the University of Montana-Western on Friday night. The Warriors conclude the road trip with a match at Montana Tech on Saturday afternoon. MSU-Northern’s next match is Wednesday, September 19th, at Great Falls.
