Warriors Roll Past Orediggers, 3-0;
Weatherspoon Reaches Milestone
LEWISTON, ID--The 9th-ranked Lewis-Clark State College Warriors defeated the Montana Tech Orediggers 3-0 in a Frontier Conference volleyball match, Thursday night, at Warrior Gymnasium. The win tonight gives the Warriors 19 straight, with the last and only loss coming August 24th to Concordia University. Also, middle blocker Amber Weatherspoon became the sixth Warrior to enter the 1,000 kill club in the history of the program.
The Warriors (21-1, 10-0 Frontier) were led by Weatherspoon’s 15 kills and .667 hitting percentage on the evening. Amanda Page added 11 kills and Jennifer Covelli registered 45 assists. Angela Igoe led the defense with nine digs.
The Orediggers (9-17, 2-7 Frontier) were led by Janalee Stokken’s ten kills. Becky Hancock tallied 34 assists and Leah McKenna led the defense with seven digs.
Lewis-Clark State will host the University of Montana-Western, Saturday night, at Warrior Gymnasium. Montana Tech travels to Salt Lake City for a match up against Westminster College, Saturday afternoon.
