Warriors Win 20th Consecutive Match
LEWISTON, ID--The 9th-ranked Lewis-Clark State College Warriors defeated the University of Montana-Western Lady Bulldogs 3-0 in a Frontier Conference volleyball match, Saturday night, at Warrior Gymnasium. The win tonight gives the Warriors 20 straight, three shy of tying the school record. Also, two-time NAIA All-America Angela Igoe eclipsed the 1,500 kill plateau. She know has 1,502 kills in her career.
The Warriors (22-1, 11-0 Frontier) were led by Amber Weatherspoon’s 13 kills and .722 hitting percentage on the evening. Amanda Page added nine kills, 11 digs, and served nine straight points in game two. Jennifer Covelli registered 43 assists.
The Lady Bulldogs (15-12, 4-6 Frontier) were led by Tanya Romer’s seven kills. Annawyn Ballou and Emily Smith tallied seven assists apiece. Katie Stokes led the defense with nine digs.
Lewis-Clark State will take to the road for the final time, in the regular season, for matches at Carroll College and Rocky Mountain, Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both matches start at 6:00 PM Pacific.
