Warriors Place Seven on Academic All-Conference Volleyball Team

Lewiston, ID-Seniors Angela Igoe (Firth HS/Firth, ID), Amy Sturtevant (Wood River HS/Ketchum, ID), and Amber Weatherspoon (Weston-McEwen HS/Albany, OR) headline the list of seven Lewis-Clark State volleyball players named to the 2001 Academic All-Frontier Conference Team, released Thursday, January 31st. Kim Conder (Rogers HS/Puyallup, WA), Amy Flaig (Sentinel HS/Missoula, MT), Amanda Page (South Albany HS/Albany, OR), and Nicole Welfel (Colville HS/Colville, WA) were also named to the Academic All-Conference team.

Igoe and Sturtevant earns their third Academic All-Conference award. Welfel is the named to the Academic All-Conference Team for the second time. For Weatherspoon, Conder, Flaig, and Page, this was their fist time on the Academic All-Conference Team.

Lewis-Clark State and Montana-Western both produced seven Academic All-Conference players. Carroll College led the way with eight selections.

To qualify for the award, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, and participate in at least one half of the contests.
