Calin is coming
off a big season where he earned All-American
status by finishing 10th at the national meet.
He was timed in 25 minutes, 2.85 seconds to post
the best finish by a Warrior male runner at the
meet. Calin transferred to LCSC prior to last
season and immediately made an impact. He was
the team’s top finisher in every race he
competed in. He also was second at the region
meet and holds the program record for 8
kilometers.
PERSONAL: Born
April 19, 1984 in Sighisoara, Romania to Ioan
and Elena, Hantau. Calin has one brother, Alin.
HIGH SCHOOL: Won
two indoor and three outdoor titles his freshman
and sophomore years and also won a cross country
title. He participated in the World Youth
Championships during his junior year.
PERSONAL BESTS: Has
run 3:47 in the 1,500, 8:20 in the 3,000, 14:50
in the 5k, 24:24 in the 8k, and 30:40 in the
10k.

MISCELLANEOUS: He
placed third in the Balcani Team Championships
in the 8 kilometer run in 2004, and then was
second in the 1,500 and 5,000 in the Romanian
Collegiate Championships in 2005. He also has
four third-place finishes in the Romanian U23
