Emily improved
throughout last season and wound up being the
team’s top finisher at the national meet. She
has grown stronger each year. She was the team’s
No. 2 runner as a freshman in 2003 when she
earned all-conference honors, but then was
sidelined by an injury the following season and
was forced to redshirt. She came back as a
sophomore in 2005 to compete and progressively
got better as the year went on.
Coach Mike Collins says
her attitude and personality help her to always
press to be in the front of every race the
Warriors compete in, which makes her an
important contributor to the team’s success.
