Nampa’s Sweet to run
cross country at LCSC
04-24-08
Scott
Sweet, a senior at Nampa High School, has
signed a letter of intent to run for the
Lewis-Clark State College men’s cross
country team in the fall, Warrior coach Mike
Collins has announced.
“We
are excited about adding Scott to our
family,” Collins said. “I don’t think a lot
of people are aware of this young man and
the talent that he has. Much of this is due
to a senior season that was not what he had
hoped for. This was due to some illness and
injuries that he was suffering through. He
is starting to run well this spring now that
he is healthy and we believe that he will
continue to improve and with a good summer
of training will come in this next fall and
have an impact on the success of the team.”
Collins says Sweet has a GPA that is better
than 3.50 and that Sweet plans to major in
Business at LCSC.
Sweet
is the sixth runner to sign with the Warrior
men’s cross country team for next fall. LCSC
is the defending Frontier Conference
champion and placed 18th at the national
meet last fall.
