Warrior Cross
Country teams both finish first at Whitman
Invite
9-1-07
WALLA WALLA -
The Lewis-Clark State cross country teams
made a clean sweep of the team and
individual titles in their season-opening
competition, the six-school Whitman
Invitational.
The Warrior
women, behind the 1-2 finish of Jenny Jensen
and Kylie Astle, posted a team score of 27
points, 19 ahead of second-place Whitman.
Calin Hantau led way for the L-C men, who
put six competitors in the top nine and
amassed 22 points.
"It was a very
encouraging showing," L-C coach Mike Collins
said. "The courses (4-kilometer for the
women, 6K for men) were all grass, so the
times seems kind of slow. But for the most
part we liked the way we ran."
