Bachelor of Applied Science  

The Bachelor of Applied Science degree is offered for all students completing an Associate of Applied Science degree.  This program is specifically designed for students wishing to build upon the technical strengths of their Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree from an Idaho State Board Education approved program.  Graduates of the Bachelor of Applied Science program will be  provided with a comprehensive general education core combined with a highly individualized array of upper division electives designed to support and strengthen the original Associate of Applied Science degree.  The minimum requirements for the Bachelor of Applied Science degree are:
 

*A.A.S. Technical Core (maximum) 50 credits (all lower division)
A.A.S. General Education Core 16 credits
**General Education Requirements 28 credits
***Emphasis Area of Electives 40 credits (33 must be upper division)
TOTAL Minimum for BAS Degree 128 credits
*Out-of-state A.A.S. degrees must be evaluated for meeting Idaho State Board of Education standards.  If the A.A.S. is over five (5) years old, the student must be evaluated by the appropriate Professional-Technical program for currency in the technical field.
 
**These credits are the balance of the General Education core.  Courses used to satisfy the A.A.S. General Education requirements may not be included.  The distribution may vary between individual plans.
 
***All BAS students must earn a minimum of 2.0 GPA in all upper division coursework for graduation.
