Professional Background:
John held several middle and upper level operations management positions in electronics manufacturing firms during the personal computer wars of the early 1980s. In his business career, he conducted business for and with Japanese firms, here and in Mexico, where he lived for nearly five years.

Personal:
When he decided to leave industry and seek a tenure-track position at a four-year college, John looked for a small school in the Pacific Northwest with a good business program, a solid Liberal Arts core, and small classes -- LCSC was it!

Academic: Decisions Sciences Institute, since 1990:
Professional:
American Production and Inventory Control Society (lifetime certification: CPIM) since 1983 and Institute for Supply Management (ex-NAPM) since 1982. President’s Award, Lewis-Clark State College, 2005 and emeritus status, 2009.

Interests:
Remodeling / Building homes, Mexican history and culture, and golf.
