options and develop skills to succeed in their career goals.
Career & Advising Services Focus
The primary focus of Career & Advising Services is to serve
prospective students, current LCSC students and alumni. The following
information pertains to those services that are offered to our academic
community. For non-students or alumni of other institutions, please refer to
Services to Non-Students.
Career Exploration
CAS provides a wide array of opportunities for students who
are undecided about their major, their career choice, or want to confirm the
choice they have made. A few of these opportunities are provided through the
following avenues:
- Career Exploration class (offered fall & spring semester)
- DISCOVER program (a computer-based exploration program)
- CAS Library materials covering a wide variety of
exploration topics

Advising
The individual advising process establishes a
collaborative relationship between student and advisor in which the student
feels a sense of connection, support, and guidance. Effective advising is
developmental and essential to a meaningful and successful educational
experience. CAS has oversight responsibility for academic advising on the LCSC
campus. As such, we provide:

opportunities for students to polish skills, learn job search techniques and to
acquire employment. As follows are a few examples:

Mock Interviews
- Prepare for the work world with Social and Interview Meal
Etiquette opportunities

with counselors

and potential entrance into an advanced education program. CAS offers the
following services that will assist students in their search for the right
graduate school:
- Graduate School Seminar (offered during fall semester)
