A primary focus of Career & Advising Services is helping students explore their
interests, values, abilities, and experiences and make decisions regarding their futures.
That is, conduct Career Exploration. We provide many avenues for students to take
in pursuing this personal exploration such as:
Career Counseling
All students face decisions about selecting a major and a career direction that is
right for them. Career counseling is available to help students explore and define their
interests, abilities, values, and other needs as they relate to choosing a major and a
career. If you are an LCSC student in need of career guidance or counseling, please
contact our office in Reid Centennial Hall 110 and arrange to meet with a Career & Advising
professional.

Career Exploration Class
Each semester, Career & Advising Services offers a class entitled Career
Exploration (SD 120). In addition to career assessments and exploration, a multitude of other important topics related to
the decision of a major, information about the world-of-work, preparing for the job search
and etiquette skills are offered. Watch for semester date and time listings in
Warrior Web under the category: Student Development (SD) 120!
Assessment
Assessments are most often combined with career counseling. This allows for explanation
and/or interpretation of results, feedback from the student, and determining a plan for
further exploration. In addition to the Discover
Program (free to students), the following assessments are available through the office of Career & Advising Services
for a fee. Fees charged to students are listed in brackets after the name of
the assessment. For non-student assessment fees, please refer to Services to Non-LCSC Students (or Non-LCSC
Alumni) Students.
