CITPT-102 COMPUTERIZED TEN-KEY (1 CR.)
Build speed and accuracy using the numeric keypad on a computer. Develops data entry skills based on industry standards. This is a self-paced course that does not meet regularly with the instructor.

CITPT-106 INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER PROGRAMMING (3 CR.)
Introduction to computer programming in the Windows environment.

CITPT-110 BUSINESS COMPUTER SKILLS (3 CR.)
Comprehensive computer course incorporating Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint using practical business and personal applications.
Pre-requisite: WRPPT 100

CITPT-115 WEB SERVER ADMINISTRATION (1 CR.)
The course presents topics on web access, server performance, security, and integrating e-mail, file transfer, and media services. Student learning will build upon beginning networking concepts and web server administration.

CITPT-116 INTRODUCTION TO WEB DEVELOPMENT (3 CR.)
Web design and development using contemporary web development tools, standards and technologies. Students will learn how to develop, document and maintain a web presence using authoring languages, style and layout technologies and client-side scripting.
Pre-requisite: CITPT 110

CITPT-117 PRINCIPLES OF WEB DESIGN (3 CR.)
A comprehensive course in web design principles and application.
Pre-requisite: CITPT 116

CITPT-144 MULTIMEDIA WEB APPLICATIONS (3 CR.)
Explores contemporary instances of web application software designed to enhance web sites with more dynamic content. This class has a hands-on approach and students will be expected to work through activities step-by-step and then take the basic competencies to create more advanced, original web application content. Cross-listed with CITPT 344.

CITPT-175 PROGRAMMING THE WEB (3 CR.)
A contemporary application course teaching web programming technologies.
Pre-requisites: CITPT 106 and CITPT 285.

CITPT-189 DIRECTED WEB AUTHORING PROJECT (1-3 CR.)
Required field experience on a team-based, organizational web site project.

CITPT-212 SPREADSHEETS AND DATABASES IN BUSINESS (3 CR.)
Instruction reviewing basic features and utilizing advanced features, functions, and capabilities of spreadsheets and databases.
Pre-requisite: CITPT 110 or permission of instructor.

CITPT-213 WEB DATABASE TECHNOLOGIES (3 CR.)
Expands basic database skills into the web environment and enterprise level applications. This course covers database design theory and advanced database application topics in contemporary, multi-user environments. Cross-listed with CITPT 413.

CITPT-214 DESKTOP PUBLISHING (3 CR.)
Teaches skills in page layout software to produce professional, high-quality documents containing text, graphics, and scanned images, using a desktop publishing system.
Pre-requisite: CITPT 110.

CITPT-222 BUSINESS DATA COMMUNICATIONS (1-3 CR.)
This course is an introduction to the world of organizational data communications. Topics include: data communications topologies, media, hardware, transmission, infrastructure, protocols, network software, and network management.
Pre-requisite: CITPT 116.

CITPT-225 INTERNET BUSINESS PROGRAMMING (3 CR.)
A skill-based study of popular Internet programming methods used for organizational web site applications. Students will learn how to build interactive and dynamic web site components.

CITPT-265 IMAGE EDITING AND ILLUSTRATION (3 CR.)
Comprehensive experience in image editing, drawing, painting, and typography.
Pre-requisite: CITPT 110.

CITPT-275 WEB DEVELOPMENT (3 CR.)
Introduction to website development using FrontPage. Integrate PhotoShop to properly prepare web graphics. Explore layout and design principles.
Pre-requisites: CITPT 110.

CITPT-285 APPLICATIONS IN WEB DEVELOPMENT (3 CR.)
This second course in web development provides students with current skills in developing web sites with advanced applications. Topics include: advanced web design applications, web design acceptable practices, web management and web site control.
Pre-requisites: CITPT 116, CITPT 275/475.

CITPT-494 INTERNSHIP IN COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS (1-12 CR.)
Students will conduct and communicate the results of a research project in the Natural Sciences Division. Topics may include the historical, philosophical, cultural and environmental aspects, and the processes of natural science. Requirements of students include satisfactory oral presentation and defense of their research and submission of a written report approved by their advisor to the Natural Sciences Division. Prerequisite: NS 398.
