Cyndie Hammond, Regional Director, LCSC-CdA

I received my B.S. from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, my M.S. & PhD. from University of Idaho.

In a one-room country school just prior to the all-school Christmas concert, a Wisconsin seven-year old and her classmates joyously rehearsed a favorite holiday song. The teacher leaned forward and whispered, “ Cyndie, just lip it.”  I still do.

After two years as the interim Coordinator for the Communication Arts Program, I have returned to the Student Services position. I am an LCSC Grad of 1993, with a Masters Degree from the University of Wales.

Gonzaga University Graduate-2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  I love my family and helping non-traditional students at LCSC. Interests include camping, tennis, and swimming.

I'm a North Idaho College Graduate.  I love the outdoors, traveling and spending time with my family (which includes our Dachshund, Jake).  We are very involved with the Kootenai/Shoshone County 4-H Program and love working with all the 4-H’ers and their animals. 

 

Kelly Vanderlinden, Assistant Director

LCSC-CdA Graduate 2003, I earned my bachelor's degree as a single mom, working full time; the typical non-traditional student. I was determined to finish college on the third try. It was also my goal to finish college before my children started college. My daughter graduated from Seattle University in Spring 07 and my son now attends North Idaho College.

I love my job at LCSC-CdA and helping other adults pursue their educational goals.

I am an LCSC Grad of 1995. I was married in January of 2006 and expecting my first child this June. I love the outdoors and  participating in my large family events. Living life is important and my last big trip was to Mexico where my girlfriends and I learned to surf.

I have been employed with Lewis-Clark State College since 1996.  I received both my A.A Liberal Arts in May, 2005; B.S. in Business Administration in May, 2007, from Lewis-Clark State College.  I am currently taking graduate courses to complete a Master Certification Program in Academic Advising from Kansas State University and a Master of Science Degree in Adult Education from University of Idaho.  I am a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and serve on the LGBTA Concerns Commission as well as Advising Transfer Students Commission. I have two children I absolutely adore!  We enjoy camping and swimming in the summer and skiing/riding in the winter. Being a program advisor for the Business Division is a dream come true for me.  I invite you to come in and visit with me about our programs and college life anytime!

Kathy Wilcox, Coordinator Communication Arts

Originally from Billings, Montana, I received my bachelor’s degree from Montana State University-Billings. I completed my master’s degree in Communication and her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies while teaching at Washington State University-Pullman. I taught classes at University of Idaho and have been teaching communication coursework at LCSC in Lewiston since 1997. As the Communication Arts Coordinator at LCSC-Cd’A, I will continue teaching upper division courses, advising students and actively recruiting new students to the program.

  Chris Ahlman, Coordinator Social Work

I received my MSW and Ph.D at the University of Illinois, Chicago.  I practiced as a school social worker in Illinois for 17 years part of that time also teaching in the MSW program at Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois.  I have been in Idaho since 2004 teaching one year in Lewiston and transferring to Coeur d’Alene in Fall 2005.  I teach practice and research classes.  My hope is that my enthusiasm and passion for the whole of the social work profession is infused into my contact with students and that it will be passed on to the next generation. 
 
John R.(JR) Seaman, Professor Social Work, President of the IASW

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, my M.B.A. from City University in Seattle, my M.S.W. from Washington University, and my B.A. from Millikin University.  I have practiced in the fields of child welfare, mental health, and research.  My specialty areas include aging, policy, administration, and grief and loss.

Kateri Ray, Assistant Professor Social Work

I was raised in a military family and lived all over this country and in two foreign countries (Japan and Iran).  I received my Bachelors degree in social work from Middle Tennessee State University and my Masters in social work from Florida State University.  I am currently working toward my Ph. D. at the University of Idaho.  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with expertise in the areas of mental health, administration, training and clinical supervision.
 
Larry Cronin, Master's of Social Work Coordinator, Boise State University

I have been a Social Worker for over thirty years, working and teaching in the areas of Medical Social Work, Grief Counseling, and Social Work advocacy and politics. I am  married with five children and have lived in the Pacific Northwest over twenty years. I invite you to consider becoming a Social Worker and devoting yourself to assisting others in changing their lives.

 

Heidee McMillan, Justice Studies Coordinator

I received my M.A and Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Washington State University, and a BS in Justice Studies from Arizona State University.  I enjoy research, discussion and problem-solving in all aspects of the justice system.  I have conducted program evaluations for a wide range of criminal justice programs including policing, problem-solving courts, and judicial performance reviews.  I like to encourage students to identify problems of interest to them in the justice system and work towards developing viable solutions.

I earned my BSN at California State, Long Beach and  MSN from California State, Dominguez Hills. I has been involved in various aspects of nursing education since 1981. My most recent educational experience is from Boise State University where I taught for 9 years. My areas of interest are pediatrics and public/community health. Scholarly activities include numerous publications and involvement in many research projects. I recently relocated to the Sandpoint, Idaho area.

I received my associate's degree in Nursing 1980 from San Luis Obispo, Ca;  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing 1991 from LCSC; Master's Degree in Nursing with certification as Family Nurse Practitioner 1994 from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. 
I love people, animals & nature.  Hobbies include bicycling, quilting, knitting & working with kids.
