ASLCSC Committee 2012-2013
Clinton Blettner - Chairperson
My name
is Clinton Blettner, and I am your ASLCSC-CdA Chairperson for the
2012-13 school year.
I was born and raised in
Hanover, Pennsylvania until I joined the United States Marine Corps
in 2004. I served two tours of duty with the 26th Marine
Expeditionary Unit from Portugal to the Middle East and Africa.
While deployed overseas, I conducted numerous field operations and
training exercises aimed at keeping my unit ready to give
humanitarian assistance around the globe. In 2009, I decided to
leave the Marine Corps and pursue a degree in Criminal Justice.
I moved to Post Falls and
got accepted to NIC where I earned my Associates degree, and in May
of this year, I applied and got accepted to Lewis-Clark State
College to pursue a degree in Justice Studies. I plan to one day
serve my community as a police officer. I am very glad that LCSC has
this program here in Coeur d’Alene, because without it I would not
be able to live in North Idaho and earn a Bachelor’s degree.
I am very impressed with the
professional and dedicated staff at LCSC-CDA, and I intend to bring
my knowledge, leadership expertise, and hard work to the student
government. I hope that I can make a difference here, as I have
around the world, so please stop in and see me in the ASLCSC Student
Government office at the Harbor Center on Wednesdays from 12:30 to
1:30pm or email me at cablettner@lcmail.lcsc.edu. If there is
anything that I can do to make your experience at LCSC as rewarding
as my experience, please feel free to visit with me. I look forward
to serving you as ASLCSC-CdA Chairperson during the 2012-13 school
year.
Ryan Crowell - Vice

was seventeen then decided to move with family to Coeur d’Alene. I
have lived in Coeur d’Alene for seven years now and are currently
employed at the Coeur d ‘Alene Resort. I was a banquet chef for four
years and now work as a server at Beverly’s restaurant. While
working as a banquet chef I also picked up the trade of Ice
sculpting. I have been the lead sculptor there for seven years now
and love it.
I went through the
automotive program at North Idaho College and received my Associates
of Applied Science Degree. I am currently working towards my
bachelors and should be done in the spring. My goal for the future
is to be involved in a successful company where I have the
opportunity to learn and better myself at becoming a successful
leader. If you would like to know more please come visit me at the
Harbor Center on Mondays from 1-2 pm or email me at

Octavian Rivas
- Media/Public Relations Director
Hello, my name is Octavian Rivas; I am your ASLCSC-CDA
Media/Public Relations director for the 2012-2013 school year. I was
born in Santa Rosa, California and moved up to North Idaho when I
was 12 years old. I went through middle school and high school in
Sandpoint, where I fell in love with what the fire department had to
offer, all from a career day that I attended.
Since high school I have
been a volunteer firefighter with Kootenai County Fire & Rescue, as
well as currently a volunteer with Northern Lakes Fire Protection
District. In 2011, I was influenced by my North Idaho College
communications classes and I decided that I wanted to study
communications after absorbing all the culture it has to offer.
I am now a senior here at
Lewis-Clark State College and I am looking forward to my last year.
I intend to bring all my leadership and hard work to the student
government of LCSC-CDA. I hope that I can help any and all that have
questions, and please feel free to visit me at the Harbor center on
Wednesdays from 2-3 pm or email me at ofrivas@lcmail.lcsc.edu. I
look forward to an awesome year as the ASLCSC-CDA media relations
coordinator during the 2012-2013 academic year.
