Career & Major Exploration...Find What You Love!

If you are unsure of your career choice or wish to reconfirm your declared major and/or career direction, this is the session for you!  During this workshop, you will learn about many ways to explore careers and what is available to you through our office. You will participate in preliminary self-assessment and will be provided with a demonstration of the DISCOVER program.  This session will provide you with many of the tools you will need to finalize career decision-making.

Resumes/Cover Letters

No matter how much or little experience you have, knowing how to write a quality resume is critical to obtain employment, acquire an internship or co-op, secure scholarships and much more.  Join us to learn how to write a resume, cover letter, and how to ask for recommendations for others.

Interviewing Techniques

Interviewing well is a learned skill. This workshop is great for individuals preparing for a first interview as well as a refresher for those with previous interview experience.  You will learn how to prepare for an interview, answer questions successfully during the interview, and perform effective post-interview follow-up.

Is graduate school an option for your future?  Attend this workshop to learn how to search for the right school, what is required, how to apply, and much more!

Conducting a Job Search

Finding a job can be a job in itself!  By understanding the various methods used to locate employment, you will be better equipped to find the best position to fit your needs.  This session will focus on local resources, as well as internet and remote leads.  Attendance is recommended for students and alumni who are seeking new and different ways of thinking about and participating in the job search process!

Professional Etiquette & Interview Meal Etiquette

These sessions will provide detailed information on the best ways to make a good impression in a professional or meal situation. You can attend both sessions or choose one that is of most interest to you. Students who have attended these sessions report that they learned numerous tips and suggestions unavailable elsewhere in their college experience! These are guaranteed to help you improve your interpersonal skills in a variety of situations.
