Geology of the Snake River
by Keegan Schmidt

Learn the geological history of Hell's Canyon firsthand on a guided tour by jet boat. We will boat through the lower canyon of North America's deepest gorge to the confluence of the Salmon or Imnaha Rivers, discussing the incredible geologic story and examining the spectacular rock exposures along the way.

Meet at Hell's Gate Marina.  Registration includes lunch, refreshments, and all taxes and fees; dress for any weather; minors 16 & up welcome.

1 day course

Dr. Keegan Schmidt has been teaching geology at LCSC for six years.  He received his masters degree in Geology from Idaho State University and PhD from the University of Southern California.  His research focuses on the geologic history of Hell's Canyon and the region around it.
