Get Into the Swing of
Things

This social dance originated in Harlem during the roaring
1920's and 1930's. Whether you're 15 or 75, swing with the
Big Band Sound of the 40s. This dance style is very popular,
energetic, and fun. Come learn how to do the eight count
swing step, Charleston, Chug, small aerials, as well as
partnering (leading and following), framing, and turns. This
swing class gets you fired up to want more. Technique is
strongly emphasized.
Minors 13 & up welcome; No
experience necessary; wear comfortable clothing and shoes,
preferably a shoe or heel with a slick sole; bring a water
bottle.

Julie Strobel/Richardson
is a dance and fitness educator and director of Julie’s Jazz
& Dance Pizzazz Company in Moscow, Idaho. Her dance and
fitness education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate
Fitness followed by Masters of Science in Dance Pedagogy.
Julie continues her education by attending educational
seminars and workshops. She has also been an invited guest
teacher at various workshops for dance studios, companies,
and universities. For 16 years she has directed and
choreographed students (ages 5 to adult) in many dance
genres. Company members perform for talent shows, Company
shows, half-time for athletics and competitions (regional
and national).
