Big
Trees & Waterfalls

Not far from the LC Valley stands the largest tree in North
America east of the Sierra/Cascade Mountains. This Giant
Western Red Cedar is estimated to be over 3,000 years old.
This interpreter-led tour will take you through the Giant
Red Cedar Grove, Morris Creek Cedar Grove, and to Elk Creek
Falls. Learn about forest management practices, old growth
ecosystems, watershed ecology, and plant and animal
identification.
Transportation by LCSC van.
Minors 8 & up with a
parent, adults welcome; 3 easy to moderate hikes for a total
of 4 miles throughout the day; student to provide lunch.

Kevin
Harvey-Morose
has been working as an
interpreter for over 25 years throughout the Pacific
Northwest, and has worked for the National Park Service for
14 years. He is currently an interpreter/naturalist at
Winchester Lake State Park and holds a degree in Wildland
Recreation Management and History.
