Biking the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes
by Karen Schmidt
The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes bike path
follows the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way from
Plummer, a town on the prairie near the Washington border,
to Mullan, a mountain mining town near the Montana border.
We’ll start at Plummer and bike 15 miles (of the 72-mile
trail) - through Heyburn State Park, along the shore of Lake
Coeur d’Alene, and over the Chatcolet Bridge - to the town
of Harrison, for lunch, and back to Plummer. This 30-mile,
round-trip ride will be an adventure for the entire family!
