Commencement 2005: A
Practical Walk-through
TO BE EXCUSED FROM PARTICIPATING:
If you do not plan to participate in graduation, please notify the LCSC
Registrar’s Office in writing. Please make your request as early as
possible.
SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS:
If you or a guest will need an
accommodation for a disability, please notify Debi Mundell as soon as
possible at 208-792-2378.
CAPS AND GOWNS:
The color of the caps and gowns is black. Cap and gown orders are placed
through the College Bookstore and the Coeur d’Alene Outreach Center. The
Josten’s representative will be on the Lewiston campus March 8th, from 10:00
a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Williams Conference Center (WCC) lobby; Coeur
d’Alene cap and gown orders will be placed on March 10, from 3:00 p.m. to
7:00 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Business Office. You will be able to
purchase your cap and gown at that time.
If you are unable to be on campus on the above dates, orders will be taken
at the College Bookstore through March 25th. There will be a $10 late fee
for ALL orders placed after March 25th. To ensure that you have the
appropriate size, please purchase your gowns early. The cost is $32.00 plus
6.5% sales tax for the Associate Degree and Certificate graduates, and
$59.00 plus 6.5% sales tax for the Bachelor Degree graduates.
CORDS and Tassels:
Honor cords (President’s Honors, Cum Laude,
Magna Cum Laude, and Summa Cum Laude) and tassels (Honors Program and
Ambassadors) will be distributed at rehearsal. To determine eligibility for

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Blank announcements that do not have any imprinting may be purchased at the
college bookstore. The cost is $12.00 for a package of 10 with envelopes.
Personalized announcement packages will be available for you to purchase
from the Josten’s representative during the cap and gown order day. You
should allow three to four weeks for delivery of the personalized package.
CLASS RINGS:
Class rings are currently available for order through the College
Bookstore. You may contact the bookstore at 208-792-2242 for further
information. Class rings may also be purchased from the Josten’s
representative during the cap and gown order day.
GRADUATION BANQUET:
The Lewis-Clark State College Associated Students Graduation Banquet will be
Thursday, May 12 at the Elks Lodge. A no-host social hour begins at 6:00
p.m. with dinner at 7:00 p.m. Each graduate receives one free banquet
ticket. Remember to pick up your free ticket from the ASLCSC Office by May
6. Additional tickets can be purchased for family and guests at the ASLCSC
Office located in the Student Union Building Room 219.
ACTIVITY CENTER TOURS:
We are so proud of our new Activity Center! Please tell your family and
friends that they are welcome to join us for facility tours at 10:00 a.m.,
11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. on the day of commencement. Tours will depart from
the 4th Street entrance.
COMMENCEMENT REHEARSAL:
Commencement rehearsal will be held Friday, May 13 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
PLAN TO ATTEND!! Graduates will begin line up at the SUB Amphitheatre. Your
early arrival will be appreciated—practice begins promptly at 1:00 p.m. The
graduate procession order will be alphabetical by last name, by major. If we
have inclement weather, line up will be held in Reid Centennial Hall.
COMMENCEMENT:
Commencement exercises are scheduled for Friday, May 13. The ceremony will
be held in the Activity Center. Graduates must arrive at 5:00 p.m. to line
up for the procession. The processional parade begins promptly at 6:00 p.m.
In case of inclement weather, commencement line up will be held in the Reid
Centennial Hall.
COMMENCEMENT VIEWING:
The ceremony will be shown live over Lewiston-Clarkston cable channel 13.
Videotapes of the ceremony may be ordered from the Educational Technology
Center the week following commencement.
RECEPTION: A
reception for graduates and their guests will immediately follow the
commencement ceremony in the Student Union Building.
