Next Volleyball Coach Candidate on
Campus
LEWISTON - Another candidate for coach of Lewis-Clark State's winning women's
volleyball team will be on campus this week. Ed Garrett will be spending time with the
team, athletic department representatives, college officials and the public on Wednesday,
March 20.
Garrett, from Englewood, Colorado, will have a full day meeting with college
representatives, ending with a public reception from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of
Spaulding Hall.
Garrett's resume includes more than eight years experience related to competitive men's
and women's volleyball, including coaching, administrative and managerial
responsibilities. He is currently head coach of the nationally and regionally ranked
women's volleyball team Colorado Christian University at Denver.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education from Point Loma Nazarene
College in San Diego, California and completes his Master of Arts degree in education,
with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction, this year at Colorado Christian University
in Denver.
Lewis-Clark State's talented Women's Volleyball Team has been on the lookout for a coach
since Kip Yoshimura left for a position at Gonzaga University last year. Two other
candidates for the coaching position, Shawn Sky and Michelle Haywood, visited the campus
the first week in March.
The public, students and faculty are invited to meet Garrett during his Wednesday visit.
The reception will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the first floor lobby of Spaulding Hall.
Spaulding Hall is located adjacent to the Sam Glenn Complex (the round building) on 4th
Street across from 10th Avenue.
