Class of 2001 Celebrates Achievement
Lewis-Clark State Colleges Class of 2001 greeted an enthusiastic crowd of onlookers as new alumni on the campus green Friday evening. Celebrating their hard work and readiness for new challenges, four hundred-sixty graduates received their degrees and certificates on a beautiful spring evening in Lewiston.
Family and friends of graduates filled the 3000 chairs set out for them, with many more standing or providing their own seating. Students filled the campus, sporting colors related to their majors and indicating special honors. LCSCs commitment to its multi-cultural community was evident in the colorful Parade of Nations, as students representing numerous other nations led the processional parade and formed an honor guard for soon-to-be graduates to pass through.
Interim President Dr. Niel Zimmerman gave the keynote address,
commending students and their supporters for choosing education
take the turn at the crossroads that leads to more, not fewer choices. Zimmerman and
other college officials also recognized faculty achievements and outstanding graduates,
before conferring degrees and diplomas to the graduating class.
