Thomas Welcomes New Coach to Campus

At a media conference in the Student Union Building, President and Acting Athletic Department Director Dene Thomas announced the hiring of Jason Zoeteman (pronounced ZOO-tuh-man) as head coach for the women’s volleyball team.

Zoeteman replaces Kip Yoshimura who resigned to take a similar position at Gonzaga University.

Zoeteman comes to Lewis-Clark State from Solano Community College in Suisun City, California, where he was the head coach for the Falcons’ women’s volleyball program the last four years.

During that time Zoeteman lead his team to post a 40-31 record, building it virtually from scratch. He guided the Falcons to a 15-3 record and the team was named Bay Valley Conference Blue Champions for the first time in 20 years. He was also named Conference Coach of the Year. The team went on to play in the NorCal playoffs, making its first appearance in 20 years. He coached 11 All-Conference players and six Academic All-Conference players.
