Lewis-Clark State College President Invites Nominations for Exellence in Diversity and Cross-Cultural Unerstanding

In order to publicly recognize achievements in advancing excellence in diversity and cross-cultural understanding, the President of Lewis Clark State College is inviting nominations for the Excellence in Diversity Award. This award may be given to schools, community members, divisions, and individual faculty, staff or students. The award will honor those who have made exceptional contributions to multicultural recruitment and retention efforts, and to increasing multicultural understanding at Lewis-Clark State College.

The Call For Nominations will be widely distributed during the months of February and March, with the deadline for submission of nominations March 30. The President’s Commission on Diversity will review the nominations and make recommendations to the President. The award will be presented at LCSC graduation ceremony in May.

The Call for Nominations will encourage the nomination of individuals or groups which have contributed to excellence in diversity by a) promoting and organizing visibility and awareness of diversity and cross-cultural understanding; b) promoting diversity as a key institutional and community value; and c) increasing the demographic diversity of the college and community.

The nomination process will require the name/names of the nominee; a description of the specific contribution; evidence that the effort has resulted in increased recruitment, retention, and understanding of diversity; and the name of the nominee.

Nomination forms may be obtained from and submitted to the President’s Office, Lewis-Clark State College, 500 8th Avenue, Lewiston, ID 83501 (208-792-2216). Nominations also may be submitted electronically by accessing the web site, http://www.lcsc.edu/culturaldiversity/nomination/form.asp.

Timeline: February-March Distribution of Call for Nominations
March 30 Deadline for submission of nominations.
April 16 Commission recommendations forwarded to President.
April 30 President’s Selection Identified.
