Ed Tech Crew Wins Awards
for Video Production
LEWISTON - The video production department of the
Educational Technology Center (ETC) recently received three bronze Telly
awards for their work on the Idaho Tribal Relations and Understanding the
Sovereignty of Tribes (T.R.U.S.T.) Project. Clients for the two videos
receiving awards were the Nez Perce Tribe and the Coeur d’Alene Tribe. The
titles of the videos are The Nimiipuu and The Discovered People.
The Idaho T.R.U.S.T. Project is a plan for development of curriculum and
presentation of information that will assist employees of the Idaho
Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) to build effective, collaborative
working relationships with tribal governments, tribal service providers, and
Indian people.
The ETC is the video production component of a collaborative effort which
includes IDHW, the Nez Perce Tribe, the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, the Northwest
Band of Shoshone Tribe, The Shoshone Paiute Tribe, the University of
Oklahoma, and Lewis-Clark State College. Video projects for the Nez Perce
and Coeur d’Alene tribes have been completed while production is currently
in progress for the Northwest Band of Shoshone and the Shoshone Paiute
tribes.
The Discovered People received awards in two categories; educational and
cultural, while The Nimiipuu recived an award in the low budget video
category. Kudos to Dan Kane and Jason Goldammer for producing and editing,
and Tom Hennigan and Bob Bostwick (Coeur d’Alene Tribe Press Secretary) for
scripting. Special thanks to Josiah Pinkham (The Nimiipu) and Bob Bostwick
(The Discovered People) for providing narration.
