Contact: Laura Moyer, Division of Natural Sciences - 208/792-2295, or e-mail her at: lmoyer@lcsc.edu Geology Club Hosts Canyon Adventure Lewis-Clark State's Geology Club is hosting a jet boat trip up the Snake River on Saturday, May 4th. In addition to enjoying spectacular scenery, participants on the trip will learn about the fascinating geology, history and ecosystems of the Snake River Canyon. The trip is open to the public and everyone is invited to take part in this enjoyable learning opportunity. Professors Keegan Schmidt, Jeff Matthews and geology students, Wade McManigle and Buck Leonard, will be on board as guides, offering commentary and insight on the unique characteristics of the canyon. Boats will leave from the Beamer`s dock, next to the Quality Inn in Clarkston at 8:00 a.m. and return at 4:00 p.m. Participants will need to bring a lunch and beverages (some will be provided on boat), jackets, hiking boots and other personal equipment such as cameras or binoculars. The cost for LCSC students is $50.00, faculty and staff, $60.00, and general public, $65.00. There will be room for 75 participants in this adventure.
