Date: April 9, 2001 What: Governor Kempthorne at LCSC to Sign Bill funding Activity Center Where: LCSC Gymnasium When: April 10, 2001; 3:00 p.m. Contact: Janis VanHook, Office of the President; 208-792-2216 Governor to Sign House Bill 373 Authorizing Funding for LCSC Activity Center Governor Dirk Kempthorne will be in Lewiston at Lewis-Clark State College, Tuesday, April 10. The governor is expected to sign House Bill 373, authorizing State Public Works Projects/Permanent Building Fund appropriations, at 3:00 p.m. in the LC gymnasium. Appropriations will support construction of LCSCs new Multi-Purpose Activity Center, among other state projects. The entire project is estimated to be worth $16.4 million and will replace existing outdated, undersized facilities on campus. The college undertook an ambitious campaign to raise $3.5 million toward the project in 1997. LCSC students pledged $2 million toward the project, to be assessed through fees over the next 25 years. The college, through alumni, individuals, corporate and community contributors, has raised $ 1.450 million to date.
